MISSION STATEMENT

Discoshredz aims to establish a secure environment where youth and women can develop fundamental skills, build confidence, and forge a deep connection with nature through mountain biking and community engagement.

Vision

At Discoshredz, "look where you want to go" is more than a fundamental of mountain biking; it's a philosophy that guides our lives. Inspired by the winding singletrack of West Virginia's forested hills, we are dedicated to welcoming children and women to our local mountain biking community, ensuring the sport's growth and sustainability for future generations.

We provide a safe space for children and women to overcome the challenges of trail riding, fostering comfort and courage in the face of obstacles. Through a community-focused approach of positive feedback and encouragement, riders learn to navigate terrain safely and confidently, pushing their limits and building the skills necessary for achieving their goals.

Our aim at Discoshredz is to instill a lifelong love for exploration, encouraging children and women to return to the mountains for excitement, fulfillment, and peace of mind.

Meet Jaclynn

Owner and Founder of Discoshredz

Hello, I’m Jaclynn Furgason, but most people call me "Jac." Originally from Rivesville, WV, I found myself in Colorado after my husband's promotion in 2011. We settled in Fruita, a town that retained the small-town charm I love, with the added bonus of a vibrant mountain biking scene. Fruita, along with Grand Junction, is a world-class mountain biking destination just a short drive from Moab, UT.

Before diving into the bike industry, I cleaned kiddos teeth at a pediatric specialist office in Grand Junction, CO. My journey in mountain biking began at Over the Edge Sports Fruita and later led me to RockyMounts & Boneshaker Adventures. My time at Boneshaker Adventures was transformative, allowing me to discover more about myself and inspire others. I realized I could continue helping children overcome fears and build confidence, but this time, not in a dental chair but on bikes.

After more than a decade in Colorado, missing our families and with my son heading east for college, I decided to return to my roots in West Virginia. I now call Canaan Valley home. My goal is to create a welcoming environment for young riders, using mountain biking as a tool for personal growth, confidence building, and fostering camaraderie. With my coaching experience in team sports and deep knowledge of the mountain biking industry, I aim to cultivate a bike community reminiscent of the one I cherished out west. Let's ride AND LET’S DANCE!
